Research
Top Down proteomics
Top-down and bottom-up mass spectrometry methods can generate gas phase fragments that are used to identify proteins and proteoforms. Top-down methods provide additional structural information which is otherwise lost using traditional bottom up approaches.
Novel Pharmacological chaperones
Cyclic thiosulfinates are novel class of thiol selective cross-linkers that avoid toxic dead end modifications.
MalDi imaging
Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) provides a unique in situ chemical profile that can include drugs, nucleic acids, metabolites, lipids, and proteins.
AMYTROPOHIC LATERAL SCLEROSIS
10 -20% ALS cases are caused by mutations in genes (fALS). We continously work on understanding protein variants associated with ALS to better define ALS etiology.
